Cara Rigby, DNP, RN
Dr. Cara Rigby has a nursing background that dates back to 1989, and for the last 17 years, has used her exceptional skills to educate future nurses, first as a clinical instructor then as a fulltime academian. Dr. Rigby’s experiences in academia include teaching in associate, bachelor’s, and pre-licensure master’s degree programs. She is currently program director for an RN-BSN completion program and is active on the BSN Implementation Committee for courses being written for a concept-based BSN curriculum. Her practical nursing background is mostly in the medical-surgical (orthopedics) field. Dr. Rigby serves on The Christ Hospital’s Evidence-Based Practice/Research Council, is faculty advisor for her college’s American Assembly of Men in Nursing (AAMN) chapter, and serves on the Board of Directors for Check Your Genes, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise the awareness of hereditary breast and ovarian cancers.
